Bulbophyllum trichoglottis Ridl., 1909

I really happy when to see photo this orchid. So the lost ID orchid from Peninsula Malaysia be able recovery soon. This specimen often labelling as B. hirtulum, but it is wrong, they labelling due just have a little bit similarity and same section from Bulbophyllum section Hirtula. Thanks for Mr. Ahmat Mamat to allow use his photo for determining the right ID. He collected specimen from Perak.

Bulbophyllum tinea Ridl., 1909

This specimen collected from mountain in Perak, and flowering in Keladu Senja`s orchid garden on 01 November 2011.

The characteristic allied to B. ovalifolium. Its have colour yellow in sepals and petals, lip more longer and plant.The detail basionym description attached below. I think this is a rediscovery for an orchid Peninsula Malaysia.

    Habenaria xanthocheila Ridl., 1896

    The description for this orchid made by Ridly and publish as Habenaria xanthocheila. Specimen for basionym collected from Penang, and I believe the distribution spread to Peninsula Malaysia as mainland.

    For botanis now this species register as Habenaria rhodocheila subsp. rhodocheila.I prefer to reintroduce the original name from Penang as Habenaria xanthocheila Ridl., 1896 as basionym publication in The Journal of Linnean Society, London, Volume 32 page 411 year 1896 as I attached the copy below this site.

    Eurycaulis compressus (Lindl.) M.A.Clem.,2003

    This is Dendrobium compressum, and follow to new nomenclatur taxonomic move to genus Eurycaulis. It is member of section platycaulon,

    Many person do wrong to determine ID this orchid as Dendrobium lamellatum. Dendrobium lamellatun native and endemic to west Java only. The characterictic made by Blume with lips have 3 keels.

    Dendrobium compressum have characteristic made by Lindl. with lip have more than 3 keels, usually 5 keels, and it is occurs in Java, Sumatra, Peninsula, Thailand, and Borneo species.
